Tree not blooming well this year.....help!
This is my first time so go easy on me
For the last few years the tree below has bloomed really well, but once July and August come around it tended to get a bad white powdery type disease. It never lost many leaves and died away as the summer went away. Im guessing its a Norway Maple Crimson King?
Each year it came back well and always did the same. I googled how to help prevent the white powdery type disease and most suggested giving it a good compost feed in Spring and plenty of water.
I have done this but it seems very slow in blooming this year. The top seems to be doing quite well, but the bottom is still very thin. I have planted a number of ferns around it this year, could this be taking water away from the tree?
Any advice would be appreciated
