radishes

my father-in-law has asked me to grow breakfast raddishes next year ,not seen them before,can anybody help and were can i get then ? ta

    Grow almost anywhere but they do need a bit of sunshine.   Best grown quickly though - can be six weeks from seed packet to plate in summer - otherwise they get woody and hot.  So give them decent soil, enough water and sun and they'll be fine.

    And because they're so small, and grow so quickly, you can sow them in and around other crops.

  • I worked at a GC back in the day and was selling our house but the garden looked bare and boring image the boss suggested scattering radish seeds along the edge of the border  wonderful show of healthy green foliage  the house sold quickly and we never got the harvest .(I wonder even now what the the new owners thought when they found radishes and not pretty flowers   imageimage)

    so yes they are easy  you can fill any spaces with them .
