Hi Folks can anyone help me out I am looking at large decking tiles from screw fix I have been hunting all over the internet and cant find an answer my question is can these tiles be laid straight on to grass.

I doubt if that would be a success. You'd have trouble getting them level, to stay in place and they'd rot in contact with the groung

Apart from the problems nut cutlet mentions the grass would grow up through them.

They'll move as well. You need a frame to put them on, and you'd need to cover the grass first with landscape fabric and some gravel to avoid the problem Bilje mentions.

    No easy short cuts Wills!

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • As said above, decking should be laid on a support structure of some description.  There needs to be a space between the decking and the ground......which some people find makes a very attractive home for rats and mice image
