Rozanne geranium problem

They are 2, planted in a SE facing container where they have happily grown before.

Free-draining.

Not overwatered.

Flowering like mad since last week, but many of the usually green leaves have turned orange/red.

What's going on?!

Not dyingor diseased, I hope...image

It is quite natural for many species of geranium to develop red leaves and is nothing to worry about.

How can you lie there and think of England

  • thanks punk - had no idea! early days for me growing hardy geraniums - thought it might be that sun was too hot that side.

punkdoc's right- most geraniums I've had showed red leaves at some point.image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

They will do this especially if they get cold or a bit stressed - it can add to the colour of the whole show.  We have various types of hardy geraniums, some of these are more prone to reddening of the leaves than others - why?  Who knows!

  • I see - hopefully mine weren't stressed image but will watch them closely.

  • thanks Verdun - you always put my mind at rest image
