Fumitory problems

I have just pulled out a large amount of fumitory that had run riot over one of my borders. Although I tried to get the roots out some were too deep and the plants broke off mid root. I want to get rid of it all but guess it will reappear if some roots are still in the soil. Has anyone any idea of how best to ensure this weed does not regrow?

No. That's not a hard one to get rid of Poppy. Quite pretty too

Pretty yes - but it really took over, covered all the other plants. I brought a packet of mixed flower seeds and it must have been in there. Will watch what I buy next time.
