Which scented roses would grow well over this new arch?

and any other scenoted climbers for inspiration?

It really depends on what colours you like or want.

Climbing Fragrant Cloud is a beautifully perfumed lipstick red rose.

Adelaide d'Orleans is a blush pink.

Gertrude Jekyll is a strong pink.

Honeysuckes and Jasmines smell beautiful but have to be kept under control.

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
  • Thanks pansyface, I already have red roses, fancy some pink or white if possible. I do have clotted cream jasmine which might look nice as well as climbing Mrs booth by fuschia?

David Austin list some good perfumed pink or white rambling roses, some of which have repeat flowering.  http://www.davidaustinroses.co.uk/fragrant/most-fragrant-rambling Phyllis Bide is another one to check out.

I would think ramblers would be most amenable to training over your arch as they are not as stiff as climbers.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
