Plant indexing software

in Plants
I currently keep a paper record (indexing cards) of the plants in the garden, with a photo, description of cultivation preferences, where I bought them, cost, etc. I'd like to move to a digital version, as it will be easier to add new plants and keep it up to date. Can anybody recommend any software, especially if it's free.

I use the excel plant inventory which I downloaded for free from the internet.
Or if you want to buy then look out for Ideas Genie (Google it).
Thanks Berghill. Although I didn't want to buy anything, I like the look of Ideas Genie. It's much more sophisticated than I really need, but it appeals to my organised/indexing/list obsessed personality! I'll miss my paper indexing boxes, but it's time to move into the 21st Century.
Have a look at "shoot gardening". I think it's a fantastic website. You can record everything in your garden, get updates every month to remind you what you should be doing for all the plants you have in your garden - and lots more.
Thanks Berkley. The Shoot plant list organiser is closer to what I need, as I don't need a full-on database. It looks like all of the information you submit is stored online by Shoot. I'd prefer something that I can download and store entirely on my pc. Do you know if the Shoot product lets you do that?
No, I don't think so.
That's a good idea Christina. I have a Pinterest account but never thought to use it for my garden stuff
Sorry!? What have I done wrong?
What a relief! Didn't sleep all night. Thought you meant I had broken some forum rule!
