Crab apple

Hi, i have a red sentinel crab apple tree. Most of the branches only have leaves on the end of the branches and the new growth seems distorted and brown...any ideas what to do? I sprayed it last week with a fungus fighter..will this help? Any advice would be gratefully recieved!
