Echinacea purpurea

Just wondering has anyone ever successfully grown Echinacea purpurea in a large container?

Thanks BH

Yes, but it does have to be a fairly large and deep one.  Just snapped this in my garden - their second year in this 18" tub.  Five plants in all and they only produced one flower each in their first year, but I expect 3-4 times that many this year.

  • Thanks Bob, I know it grows to a rather large plant so was concerned a container could affect it's flowering performance. You'll have to let me know how it flowers this Summer image

Will do - as long as we get something resembling a summer, that is!image
