fruit trees

HI I m very new to gardening, I have got three fruit trees in pots, which i got last year.
One tree did give me some small fruit, the other two, one looked healthy, but the middle one looked very poorly, and i thought it was it was,nt watered well, as we went away on holiday and nobody watered them. but this year i have lost two of the trees. The leaves have whilted right back, i thought it was because the weather was so cold, Now i dont know what to do ?
