just googled,I would say you are spot on by the look of flowers, poor specimen bought at a charity shop as a heucera,i was quite impressed when i saw the delicate flowers.
Not hardy for me but a friend grows some in an unheated greenhouse they built specially for alpines and succulents and which has two chairs and a wine shelf so they can go and sit in winter and enjoy their garden.

I suspect it's the damp that does it more harm. I did have some and grew them in what I thought was a well drained spot but then we had a mildish wet winter and that was that.

Thanks tetley,it is not a tiarelle, the flower shape is spot on saxifraga fortunei.good suggestion on tiarelle though
I've got one myself, GG. It always helps with ID!
you are still a star, best possible way to id,Just got to multiply it now, As i really like it
Mine is growing in quite dense shade. It just puts on another rosette or two each year. And yes, the flowers are quite beautiful!
Are these hardy? I've never tried them because I thought they were not
The only really healthy looking ones I've seen are lurking under the GH shelving in a friend's nursery
In the sticks near Peterborough

Thank obelixx. We may not be as cold as you but I don't think this one is for me.
