    Hi, Garden Geek!

    Could it be Saxifraga fortunei?

Mine is growing in quite dense shade.  It just puts on another rosette or two each year.  And yes, the flowers are quite beautiful!  image

Are these hardy? I've never tried them because I thought they were notimage

The only really healthy looking ones I've seen are lurking under the GH shelving in a friend's nursery

Not hardy for me but a friend grows some in an unheated greenhouse they built specially for alpines and succulents and which has two chairs and a wine shelf so they can go and sit in winter and enjoy their garden.

Thank obelixx. We may not be as cold as you but I don't think this one is for me.

I suspect it's the damp that does it more harm.  I did have some and grew them in what I thought was a well drained spot but then we had a mildish wet winter and that was that.
