Best all round feed/fertiliser
Can anyone recommend the best home-made or shop-bought, all-purpose fertiliser/feed for the garden? I’m talking about something that will do a decent job for borders AND pots. The choice of feeds and fertilisers at the garden centre is just too bewildering. I've heard tomato feed does a good all-round feeding job. Is this correct?
Also, are there any plants, shrubs or flowers which definitely DO benefit from their own specialist feed (e.g. roses)?
Looking forward to your responses.

An all round fertiliser would be one containing an NPK ratio of 7:7:7 for example Growmore.
Tomato contains a higher ratio potassium specifically to help fruit development, but this also helps with flower production.
