pine tree looks sad

Hi everyone, I'm in need of help. I have moved to a new home which has a very large pine tree in the garden which seems to be dying! It had a lot of Ivey wrapped around it which I have taken off . Could this be the reason for it dying ??? If so how do I bring it back to life?????

If it's dead you won't bring it back to life Terri. You've done your best for it by taking the ivy off. The chances of a large tree being short of water at this time are slim. You can only wait and see

  • We took all the ivy off and cut most of the dead branches off . Such a shame if we can't give it a new lease of life. Thank for your response tho image

What are the new/top branches like Terri. The lower branches of pines do die back as the canopy gets larger and shades them out. You can see them around the countryside with a very tall trunks and all the branches at the top.

  • There r some branches at the top that look lovely and green but others look dead!!  About 50 per cent of the tree has gone a dark brown , it has some pine cones still attached to some of the branches near the top of the tree but the pine pins seem to be very droopy..

That doesn't sound good does it. i can't think what else you could do. I'm sure if anyone else has ideas they'll come in so don't stop checking the thread for a day or two.
