I know it sounds daft but do pierris plants loose colour or horror of horrors is there something wrong with my fading plant.

Nothing wrong, that's how they grow. Mine have gone from flame red through pink to light green now.
Thanks so much I thought I'd killed it off and wondered how to revive it, I think it is me that needs reviving. Thank you.
Is it just round where I live, but haven't the Pieris have been wonderful this year? On my way home from work (Sheffield) I've seen loads of bright bushes of fire! I've passed them every day for years and not noticed them being this spectacular
