Rhododendrons and horse muck !

We inherited about a dozen, mature rhododendrons/azaleas when we bought our house. They are in a shady area under trees and a very overgrown beech hedge. We have severely pruned the beech hedge now and the rhododendrons are now getting more light and seem to be doing a lot better this year. I have a huge amount of well-rotted horse manure (with and without straw) - any reason not to mulch the rhododendron with it ??

IT WILL KILL -THEY HATE MENUR
THESE PLANTS ALL NEED ERECASIUS COMPOST . THE PLANTS YOU MENTION ARE BEAUTIFUL AND WILL FREWARD YOU TREMENDOSLY OVER THE YEARS. PLEASE CHECK UP THESE .
You can get the food from a garden store / pound stretcher/ etc
You Need Sequested iron .
OK - I won't use the cow manure on them
They do get a good mulch of leaves in the autumn naturally 
Have just mulched a 200 ft hedge with the straw manure (did this last year too) and used it for the veggies, but have so much left, I'll have to use it on another hedge

Apart from Rhubarb I always compost mine. Didn't know you could use it directly onto Runner beans. Hmm will bear that in mind
What do you mean by compost it ?? I just have mine delivered by a friend who dumps a tractor/trailer load in our field. I leave it to sit there for at least 6 months before using it (far too much to shift it anywhere near my compost bins
One heap is with straw, the other is just pure poo

I've have too although I planted my beans out last weekend and they didn't like the wind, but hopefully they will come away OK 
If you grow tomatoes , cucumbers , melons.it will be much appreciated I think that .you can use it on many veg though check first !. if its used on root veg like carrots they

Pleased your not using your horse muck on Azalea's etc , I love this family of shrubs and the only reason I know is because I did it to my first ! Would love to see some photo's of yours if possible.

Alas I have a small garden and only rooms for compost bins
Is mulching rhodedendrons with garden compost also a no-no?
