Hi I have an eight foot sunflower growing in my garden it has one large head and i have noticed that there are nine more starting to grow on the stalk too is this normal please as i have only ever seen them with one or two heads before. thank you

Perfectly normal - there are about as many varieties of sunflower as there are types of car
thank you for that first year i have planted them and just wondered as seemed odd to me.
After I replied to you I went out and did some stuff in the garden including counting the flower heads on one of my sunflowers. There are over 20 on it!
