Propagating Nepeta....

Hi,
Can you take cuttings from Nepeta in the same way as you would Lavender? Also do you have to cover the pots in a plastic bag for humidity and keep them inside or could I put them straight outside in a cold frame?
It's the first time I'm going to have tried taking cuttings!

I haven't done this, I divide mine. But I should think you could take soft wood cuttings from nepeta. I'd wait til it's really reliably warm and growing weather. Keep them somewhere out of the sun,

I've taken a few cuttings in the usual way, cutting below a leaf joint and removing the bottom leaves and growing tip. I've got them in water on the kitchen windowledge this past week or so and so far they're still alive. No sign of roots yet but it's early days.
