trachycarpus fortunei Fruit

I have a trachycarpus fortunei for seven years and this is the first year that it has flowered after checking online I found out that fruit will come after the flowers. I have a small dog and grandchildren who are into everything and I need to know if the fruit will be poisonous and if so how will i get rid of it safely.
