Apple tree shoots

Anyone advise...at the base of my very old apple tree that is producing great fruit every year, I have loads of new shoots. Do I let them continue growing or cut them right back? Many thanks for feedback.

Apples are grafted so if it is from below the graft mark, you will need to pull them off, as close to the trunk as possible.
