Whats your favorite flower or plant?. Thats an easy one, Delphinums. All though there may be up and rising stars next year. Various species of vibrant Dalihas.
Not my very favourite but the one that everyone in all my family, friends, relations, relations' friends, relations' family...you get the picture, can't live without thanks to my dad. I hope he can see the legacy he left behind....it's probably visible from space! My very favourite, or one of them, is Hellebore. Delicate and fluffy and hard as nails!
Absolutely impossible to pick one.So much depends on one's mood. If I'm feeling happy then a rose with a real hybrid tea rose perfume. If I'm feeling reflective perhaps a lilac. And if I'm down in the dumps it has to be a freesia.
Apophthegm - a big word for a small thought. If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

I too couldn't pick just one.
Who can resist the early perfection of the common primula?
But then the hostas start to erupt and the primroses are , almost , forgotten.
A good stand of deliphiniums is indeed a wonderful thing: but I've never been able to grow them
there's no reason to rationalise why we love the flowers we do, any more than the people with whom we fall in love. Others might disagree, but tough.
