Pruning Alder
I have an alder that is about 7 years old, I'd say its about 20 feet high. I don't really want it to get any taller, can I cut the top off to stop it?
Thanks

You can coppice alder. Leave it until the Autumn then cut it down to about 6 inches high. It will then re-grow with multiple stems. You can repeat the process every 5 years.
