This wild orchid popped up in the turf surrounding our pond this year, flowered at the end of June around 18inches tall ,assume its a present from the birds, but which variety is it?
Jo just googled it does look like the marsh orchid we live in the midlands so which one is anyone's guess think I'll do what Dave suggests and send a picture ,we have had mallards visit the past couple of years and of course the dreaded heron, although not this year since we bought our ornamental heron, so they could have brought the seed.
It was lucky nut I have cowslips planted in the turf and left them to set seed, was trimming it and noticed the flower spike phew

http://www.first-nature.com/about.php Try this link Kathy, if you send them the picture, they'll help ID it for you.
That's the sort of present I'd like. It would have to be carried over miles of agricultural desert for delivery though, so unlikely
