A smashing day here. Bright sunshine and a fresh breeze.  The oregano plants, or maybe marjoram plants (I've never bothered to check), which cover almost every square inch of available earth are covered in every sort of bee or fly you could wish for.image

Loads of bees here - on Sedums, Buddleias, wild rocket, Clematis and various other bits and pieces. Not seen as many hoverflies as usual, but perhaps I have fewer plants for them. Or maybe I've just not been in the garden so much this year. image

S*d all butterflies though. Been a bad year for them - too cold and wet. I've seen very few, even on the buddleias  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Seen on cosmos, sedum and they're starting to take an interest in the ivy

    In London. Keen but lazy.

A large patch of ivy in flower has bees, wasps, hoverflies, assorted other flies and a few butterfliesimage

I hate the smell of ivy in flower so just admire the life and move away

It will be the lacedwings next pansyfaceimage

After that I expect the mice/voles/shrews will want to scrabble around chewing the polystyrene part of the roof insulation. They are so noisy
