Sarcococca Confusa

M FentM Fent Posts: 166
Having researched on the deep dark web, I cant seem to find a definate answer to if Sarcococca confusa would be suitable to form a 4-5ft high hedge? I do deduct from my research that it is slow growing; just how slow im not sure. Any idea how many years it would take to get that height?

It doesn't always get that tall MFent. None of mine are taller that 2ft 6in after many years, they spread but don't get tall. It's very variable. I should like to get hold of one of the taller ones

Oh bum. Are yours definitely confusa? As most desriptions say they get to around 5-6ft. Humilis are described as smaller. Or maybe im mistaken. I should take a rest from sarcococca research

I was talking about this with a nursery man who told me it was a natural hybrid and very variable. He may not be right about the nature of the plant but I have observed the variabilty in many gardens.

I need one of the big ones, more in scale with the surroundings here. The only nursery person I've found to confirm the potential size of his plants confirms that they aren't very tallimage

We saw the big ones on our Anglesey Abbey trip
