Been watering this a lot over the past few days, but the leaves are still shedding and there are lots of spots on all the stems, which do not appear to be an insect so possible fungal infection?

Don't think I have overwatered the plant... if anything I could have given it more water over the past couple of months.
The leaves shedding may just be old foliage, but combined with all the little lumps on the stems, worried it is a disease?
