Lawn with heavy clay base

Just moved into a property with a decent size lawn albeit with a heavy clay base, after rain very boggy until it dries out.Appreciate lots of advice re borders/bare clay soils on here but was wondering best line of attack for an established lawn, can anyone recommend a soil/lawn  improver that I could  use please? I'll leave lawn clippings as a natural mulch in the meantime
