Honeysuckle leaves brown &shrivelled

My lovely large flowered honeysuckle seems to have succumbed to some  sort of disease. The leaves have suddenly that black/brown spots and the. They shrivel and die. Is it terminal? Would I prune off affected shoots?

Do the brown/back spots have yellow rings around them?

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I had a honeysuckle where the leaves went brown - it actually needed feeding, as the compost was poor and I bought it rootbound - do a google image search for plant diseases and see if it matches. If it doesn't, it might be something cultural like food, or shade that it needs.

  • looks like it is some kind of leaf blight judging from internet searches. This plant has been fantastic for the last 5 years or more so it will be a real shame if it is turning up it's toes.
