Poorly hebe
I planted a hebe heartbreaker in August 2012 and it survived the winter beautifully, then suddenly about three weeks ago it started to go really brown. I think there may be just a few healthy small branches now. I'm assuming that the last heavy frost has upset it, but at a loss what to do now. I am watering regularly and have given a dose of soluble aspirin. Should I leave alone for a while apart from watering or would it help to cut off the dead foliage? Any advice please?

I would cut of any old branches and it should perk up and new growth should arrive may be give a mulch with compost as well
Keep going with the watering I would say. I grow lots of hebes great plant
Hi JG, Mine's done the same thing but yesterday when I looked closely wondering wether to did it up or prune it back and pray, I noticed slight signs of growth at the base of the stems. So I think leave it awhile and cross your fingers
Okay thanks for advice both of you. Fingers crossed then.
Don't know if I'm too late commenting on this. I live in a flat and have 2 hebes on my balcony. It looks like they've been sun damaged underneath... The top leaves are still green but the underneath looks just like dried brown wood and the leaves are all brown and dry... Is there a way to bring them back to life? I may have forgotten to water them a few times but am watering them again now... Hope someone can help!
Pleased to report my hebe is looking pretty good now. Amazing what a bit of TLC can do.
That's excellent Gill
