One of a kind... or not?

DimWitDimWit Posts: 553

This lily bloomed from a former year´s bulb, only one flower sadly, but with

tem petals (and 12 stamens). I wondered if two flowers merged into one, or is

it a doubling process ongoing? (in the later case I could try make it seed, and

propagate, what do you think?)

I've bumped up the Daylily thread in case somebody spots this one.

I'm inclined to think it's just a bit of a one off, freak incident and probably very unlikely to happen again. But who knows?

If it is a stable change it is unlikely to come true from seed.  Better to keep the little offset bulbs and grow them on till big enough to flower.
