Garlic
First time garlic grower and my garlic 6 inches high, planted in the autumn is showing signs of yellowing leaves.
I'm concerned in case this is a sign of white rot. I've dug up a clove which did have slime on the clove white, but not sure if this because the leaf has died back. When the clove was cut in half down the middle the clove was solid and showed no sign of disease.
I understand if it is white rot, then I can't plant any of the allium family in there for upto 20 years, I can't even disinfect the soil because the spores hibernate until a host becomes available.
Any advice from other garlic growers would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if it is a deficiency in the soil or if I have infected gloves.
Many thanks.
