anyone out there growing vegetables in containers?,would welcome any ideas for growing something a bit different,have grown the usual,potatoes.beans and salad crops.
Chantenay carrots do very well in containers as they are shorter rooted that most. I grew them in old recycling boxes with holes drilled in the bottom, and the bottom half filled with chunks of old polystyrene topped off with MPC. Worked a treat.
Globe rooted varieties of beetroot do very well grown the same way.

Thanks Dove,have tried the carrots(forgot to mention) but have,nt tried beetroot,will give them a go and see how I get on.
