Trebah, Heligan, the Eden project.
Can't pick just one.
Trebah is very sheltered from wind. Heligan is good on a sunny day. Eden project good on a wet day. If its sunny and the sea is flat calm, go diving.
All the above, plus Llanhydrock, which also has a house worth seeing and Cotehele. I think both of these are NT, which may make it cheaper.

I of course know what I am talking about, as a true born Cornishman, coming from a well known family of ship wreckers!!! my father was very upset when I went into medicine, rather than following in the family foot steps.

Awww Pdoc, I had you down as another one of those scythe-wielding, tin-mine-owning tall dark and handsome types

Trebah is nice.
A walk around Padstow then into Prideaux.
Pencarrow, the owners may come and speak to you, she wanders round, mind you, that's was many years ago so maybe not now.
the Japanese garden, if you like those.
Trelissick is nice, Heligan, not bad, not much but wonderful what they have achieved.
Eden project, nice on a cooler day, you can get the bus down from the car park or a tractor ride.
Caerhays is best in Spring, Azealias, camellias etc.
So many to choose from, There is at least one in every place I think.
For me, Heligan, Eden and Pine Lodge Pinetum because I get in free!
