Leaves or flower buds

Had 2 magnolia Susan in large pots for about 2 years but neither has had flowers. Has anyone got any ideas why this might be please?

Hi CLER - they are quite big plants- might be happier in the ground.  This might be why they are not producing flowers.  Are they making lots of leaves  and new shoots ?

CLER I think magnolias can take a little while to flower so if you've only had them a couple of years that may be the reason. As  long as they're in a suitable size of pot, are healthy and have the appropriate food and water, they should be fine. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will be able to offer other advice though!image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
