Sage muncher

Afternoon folks. I planted out my sage cuttings from last year 3 days ago and have been out with the dog this morning and noticed that they are being munched around the leaves and some leaves have been removed by chewing through the stem. Can anyone help? I have grown sage for years and never had this problem before.
