Penstemmon - cutting back

chickychicky Posts: 10,379

Hi there,

I was planning to cut back my penstemmons this weekend (I normally do it much earlier than this).  Would it be alright to do it now, even though frost is forecast, or should I leave it til next weekend ?

Many thanks

I'm thinking it won't be a severe frost and it will be OK

Thanks nutcutlet - thats my weekend sorted then !

Not a big job cutting them back - but a bigger job getting rid of all the leaves and weeds that the old foliage has been concealing !

I'm still tackling the dry stems of last year's perennials chicky. Haven't started on weeds yet. Different game. Dry stems to shredder, green stuff to compost heap.
