Lawn weeds
Hi all,
We have patches of what I believe is Selfheal. I have treated it with Resolva (can I say that? ) lawn wedd killer, this being done on the 16th April. So far, it doesn`t seem to have any effect, and there are no clues as to length of time for it to take effect, on the packaging. Can anyone tell me, have I used the right treatment, and if so, when will it start???. Thankyou in advance.

It should have started to make the foliage curl up by now, but it doesn't go yellow / brown lile glyphosate or path weedkiller. Resolva Lawn Weedkiller is the right stuff, so give it a few days more. Selfheal is popping up everywhere right now, so maybe some have emerged after you treated. Check that some aren't showing signs of distress.
Gold1locks,
Thanks very much for replying. Will follow your advice, which makes sense. Thanks again, it is appreciated.
I may be wrong but self heal leaves are like tough plastic and the weed killer may not be able to soak into the leaves so you may have to damage the leaves first for the weed killer to work.
I always use round up and if you visit round up site it will tell you what weedkiller to use.
I think self heal is a lovely plant. One of that willing team that makes my 'lawn' green.

Whatever you do, do not use Roundup (glyphosate) on your lawn. It will kill everything. The lawn weedkiller you are using is the right one. I used Verdone (similar) on Selfheal today. The leaves are coarse and should absorb the weedkiller easily.
I did say I may be wrong!
but I would use round up gel, and not the spray.
Thankyou to everyone who has taken the time and trouble to reply. I am a very, very, `green` gardener - if you`ll pardon the pun, so any, and all, advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers, cresser.
