Ground Cover Options?

Hello All,

After a few suggestions for groundcover options... Have just cleared an resonably large area at the bottom of the garden of weeds and general detritus... soil is really poor, a layer of dust covering soil thats like concrete...

Not sure what I really want to do with the area, so want something to grow that will keep weeds down, until I get decide what to do... but also something thats not going to be a total nightmare to get rid of once I do get round to cultivating it...

Any suggestions?

My first thought is seed it with grass. image

wild flowers might be a good way to go. They put up with a lot.

How about hardy geraniums? Lovely flowers and the bees love them too.....

I think a wild flower meadow mix would be good too. They can look lovely. Here is a pic of one we saw in Yorkshire last summer.
