Can people tell me what they use to start there seeds off, what soil do you use do you mix anything in with it, things like that.

I'm just interested what people use, what is your success rate for growing seeds.

Input would be greatly appreciated, thank you.xx

I use ordinary MPC, nothing fancy. Sometimes add grit if it's suggested on the packet, or I sow direct into the soil. It really depends on what seed your'e sowing.

Thank you Dave Morgan and hollie hock, I use multi purpose compost as well and mix vermiculite with it, sometimes I have a good success with seeds but other times it might be half success, wasn't sure if I was using the wrong stuff.

    Thanks for your input.xx

This year I have been using an Irish compost, the seed germination is extremely good and the pot plants and baskets are still going strong, this will definitely be my chosen compost from now on.

The most important thing with seeds is to choose a good supplier. There are some companies which offer few seeds in the packets and their germination rate is a disgrace.
