Is it still too cold

Hi everyone I have a bunch of seedlings which are still small and without their second leaves. My problem is that they seem to be growing too tall and spindly with some falling over. I'm guessing the light on my window sill isn't enough but I'm worried that putting them outside will kill them off. What do you think? I live in Dorset. In the past I have had a nice light conservatory but now I have moved house I'm trying to make do with what I have got. Thanks

perhaps you have given them too much heat and not enough light.some seeds need cold to start them off and others heat.you could put the seed tray into a plastic clear bag ,water first and keep in a light place not to hot until they start growing and then re move bag and let them grow slowly in moderate heat and thin out.
i agree with flowering rose they need more light they seem to be reaching upwards what i did was put the tray in a clear plastic bag and put them outside my back door on the floor then its like a mini greenhouse.

Alice, they're struggling for light. Do you have a desk lamp or similar with a bright-ish bulb? I have a couple that I use for seedlings in the depths of winter. Lower the lamp - or raise the seedlings - till the plants are about two inches from the light. They won't burn. Apart from light, the bulb also provides warmth. Raise the lamp - or lower the seedlings - as the plants grow, always keeping them about two inches from the light.
Don't leave them under the light 24/7. Even seedlings need their night time. 12-14 hours out of 24 will be enough.
