Germination of some wildflowers
I have sown some corncockle seeds several times in different locations this spring and they have failed to germinate! The catalogue labelled them as 'easy'... what am I doing wrong? The same also for meadow cranesbill. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks

When did you sow them? It may well have been too cold for them to germinate - if they've not rotted in the cold and wet they'll probably germinate when the soil temperatures have warmed up a bit
I agee, spring only started a couple of days ago, they haven't had a chance yet. I sow my outdoor annuals when it's warm enough for me to be out there without freezing.
I agree - I've not sown any wildflower seeds yet
Have they germinated yet hollie hock? I was going to direct sow mine this year, soon (sooner or later)
Might start mine in pots then or they'll not flower before the end of summer and then I won't get seed. Need to get on with it or half my seeds will still be in packets next year like the sunflowers from last year.
Thanks for your comments. Some seed was sown back in February - much too early I realise! I have just resown in the G'house and indoors. Fingers crossed!
I have seeds growing on bedroom window sill.
