I've not got an apple but I do have a pear - just tiny little leaf-type buds at the moment - just looked over the fence and next door's appletree - just the beginnings of leaf-type buds there too, nothing 'plumping up' like blossom buds yet. It has been very cold - I'm sure it'll happen
I am in West Oxford and my apple tree buds are just opening this weekend. Don't panic, mother nature knows when it is ready. Everything is going to be late. I just hope the wind and rain keep clear, as it had all my apple blossom off last year. Spring is most certainly here as I have dandelions in flower and the weeds are starting to grow!
Oh dear the March winds are here today and causing havoc lots of new growth just starting but cold wind frazzles it! No open buds on apple yet but still a bit cold in Lancs I think
nothing in north manchester no buds as yet ...but its geting warmer
Buds getting break on my apples and pears - white tips on the flowering buds, but it will be a couple of weeks before they open (I'm in Lincolnshire)
small buds on apple tree, im in south manchester
You should see buds, even if not open yet. If you really cannot see any buds then you need to do the scratch test to check if it is still alive.
Up in north east my red apple tree is already sprouting, however the cox is still looking rather dormant, I have done the scratch test and its still alive.
As for other trees my pear has openned and my morelo cherry is budding nicely. Dont worry its only just started warming up and it depends what variety you have and conditions you are in that determine when they'll burst into life!
My apple and pear buds are now starting to open, but a few weeks more before I need to worry about protecting opening flowers from late frosts.
Not anyting yet...
Pears are starting to open, plums are visible and most of the apples are starting - apart from Newton Wonder, which is always my latest to blossom. Late this year though ...
Leaf buds green on the pear tree
Buds just starting to show on my apple tree hope get apples this year its in its 3rd year now but never had fruit.
Yes, mine is covered in small reddish leaves (North London)
Nothing on my bramley apple tree yet, looks really bare and dead. I am worried!!
Early plum in blossom, pear flower buds are just about to break and the apple flower buds are not far behind, here in the East Midlands. Not expecting any signs of leaves for a couple of weeks or so.
Buds on Crabapple most advanced, can see white tips on the eating apple tree and the cooking apple is a but further behind. Both are very elderly though so are doing well! Baby plum tree has a huge number of swelling buds but they're nowhere near ready to open
I've got lots of buds on all my apple trees also on pear and cherry tree. Bexley Kent
