Advice on planting Spruce Trees

Hi All,  I have purchased 2 Spruce trees, one is a 3ft Picea Serbian Spruce  (christmas tree)  which i intend to plant in the  garden and the 2nd one which is a lovely 3ft Silver coloured Picea Colorado Spruce tree which i am hoping to plant in my front garden.  Our Bungalow sits on a corner so we are in full sun most of the day.  I would appreciate some help and advice on what type of soil conditions a Spruce tree require. . also will it be ok to position my Spruce tree in full sun.

    This website, although American, gives all the information you may need to have for both trees.

    Thank you so much Pansyface for your help and also for the link you sent which was most helpful and very informative. On reading about Spruce Trees i was surprised at the Height and widths on reaching maturity. I now understand why you asked if i had a large garden image...... Thanks .
