Liming effect on slugs?

Thanks all for your comments.  Won't get too excited then.  Cabbages and asparagus will enjoy the lime, at least.

Lime has dehydrating properties, handle some and see the results. I would love to dunk slugs and snails in it, especially the ones that have destroyed a delphinium I found this evening.
