Can a rusty storage water drum dammage my soil?

A few weeks ago I bought a steel drum, the inside is a little rusty, when I fill it up the water turns a little cloudy, the drum held pineapple juice(the website states this and the drum has a large label on the side also stating this), I've since cleaned it out thoroughly. I've been using it for a few weeks on my plants and nothing seems to be disliking it but I'm a little worried about soil chemistry, can a rusty barrel damage my garden plants and soil?

I shouldn't think so. After all, chellated iron (iron made soluble and in a form accessible to plants) is used to treat chlorosis.

I just feel for whoever drank the pineapple juice.image

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
