1) Have seen this shrub in several local gardens, either clipped very formally, or in a more loose structure. It looks similar to Box, but given the prevalence of blight, I thought it might make a nice substitute.
2) Collected some of this as seed from the mountains in Madeira. Just got it to flower in my garden, but no idea what it is.
