Hey everyone,
im needing some help or a step by step guide on what to do. My dad has given me the veg plot and green house to look after this year. He says if i can mange this then he will help me buy a car so im needing help from anyone please. The green house atm is full of plants in pots that have been propagated like geranimus so need to be hardened off. There is also a heater on atm in the green house when do i need to switch this off or do i leave it on on year round? There is a heat tank for seed propagation which has tomato seedlings in and one batch is outdoor tomateos and the other is indoor. There are also some early potatoes being chitted atm and are ready to be planted into the ground weather permitting. I also have loads of seeds to do as well which is 2 packets of different courgettes, flower sprout, Carrot, parsley, dwraf french beans, beetroot, leeks, 2 varieties lettuce, cauliflower, and 2 packets of different broccoli, onion. Then there is the cut flower which is aster, poppy, larkspur. The area i have to put the stuff in is not massive so i need to plant stuff at the right time to make sure theres then room for the next as these seeds are for the year. What i need to know is do these seeds need to be put into pots then into the heat tank, stright out into the garden etc etc? The green house has only got gravel floors and a few benches so i cant plant anyting in the greenhouse and can only use pots. My dad also mentiond to me about opening and shutting the green house with the weather? Any help on this would be great as i would like to prove my dad i can do it.

haggi, I'm sure you will get lots of advice on the forum; just be aware that because it has been unseasonably cold, the advice given in books and magazines about planting should be taken with a pinch of salt.
The other source of advice, would be your father. he knows the system that he has operated for years (?) and would be a great help. You don't say if you are working, college or what, you will need to dedicate a fair bit of time to nurturing the plants; weeding, watering etc.

The first thing to get hold of are seed planting charts, you will usually find one for veg and one for flowers. Due to the cold spring you will find that the planting times will need to be moved to suit this years conditions. You need to say where you are and then hopefully someone in your area maybe able to help you decide when to plant.
Once you have an idea of what you should be planting you need to know the germination temperatures and growing conditions required. Your soil type will also need to be determined thou you will have a clue from what your dad has grown successfully.
Its a major help to write down plant germination time and temperature and date sown. Ideally build a routine water regularly and don't allow plants to dry out, don't over water! Tomato feed is a good go to for many plants, bone blood and fish meal are good for hungry vegetables. If the veg plot is bare get some covers on black ideally to help warm the soil. Greenhouse heater is only needed to keep seeds and plants at suitable temperatures you generally only need it when the weather is cold.
If the greenhouse is too hot you need to open the door, too cold close it. will that do for a start.
