Red thread

I have 3 lawns which take me about 1 1/2 hours to cut. One lawn has now quite a lot of red thread. I feed regularly and have also used nitrogen as was suggested by a friend.

can someone suggest a remedy for an area of this size of lawn and I will probably have to treat the other 2 to prevent spread?

    The best preventative and treatment apart from applying nitrogen is to improve the drainage and aeration of your lawns so scarify and aerate thoroughly, and don't compost the thatch or mowings from the lawns.

    We have excellent drainage but yes scarifying and aeration sounds like something I should try. Should I do this now or wait until September?

    I don't think it'd hurt to get on with it now, providing the lawn's not suffering from drought like mine is - what do others think?
