Strawberries and Roses

Roses form but seem restricted in opening , strawberries appear, first feed with tomato feed, they reach the size of about 6mm across then appear as though they have been squashed.What is happening , any information would be very helpfull

Roses maybe affected by rain? Or are there any caterpillars inside the unopened buds?
Don't know about squashed strawberries though.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
