hi i have just constructed a rockery in my garden and would like some advice on planting the main prob i have is im exposed to the elements being situated in very open area the main problem is the wind so the plants must be able to withstand quite a strong gust and in winter to be able to survive pretty extreem weather its not all doom and gloom in summer (if we ever have one ) the garden is in full sunshine most of the day any advice would be very helpfull

    Sounds as if you have the ideal conditions for a traditional alpine rockery - so any of the traditional rockery plants, saxifrages, thrifts, thymes, sempervivums - the list goes on - google alpine rockery plants and you'll get plenty of choice image

    heather is a great rockery plant that can withstand the harshest of weather.
