Uprooted tree

Hi, i planted a bareroot alder tree three years ago. Its has grown well and is approx 6ft tall. Unfortunately during recent storm the tree was uprooted and snapped all the roots on one side of tree. I have dug it back in and staked it. Am i wasting my time? Will it regrow roots on the one side?. Thankyou. Alasdair

Worth trying. I did it with an apple tree after the years ago 'hurricane' and it survived to produce apples

I have had a rose do that twice -it has survived-as long as it is now firmly staked- I would say you have a good chance image
